We consistently develop new means to ensure we uphold our responsibilities, such as the Faber-Castell Code of Conduct and the Faber Castell Social Charter ensuring fair employment and working conditions. Since the mid-eighties, the Faber-Castell Group reforestation project in Prata, Brazil has renewed over ten thousand acres of forest, providing a habitat for over six hundred animal species while absorbing 900,000 tons of carbon dioxide. This topic is very close to our hearts, and we are committed to meeting and surpassing these standards not only for the products we make today, but for all the high-quality products we will develop and produce in the future.

The BDIH seal is a test mark for controlled natural cosmetics and is based on ecological, health and social aspects. This seal ensures that we use only natural raw material such as plant oils, fats and waxes, herbal extracts and essential oils as well as aromatic materials from controlled biological cultivation or controlled biological wild collection. In addition to the careful selection of raw materials, the ecological impact of each product plays an important role.
A label for products with materials from FSC-certified forests and/or recycled material as well as material from controlled sources. The FSC forest management certification confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustains economic viability. With this seal, we demonstrate that we are committed to maintaining high conservation values to community relations and workers’ rights, as well as monitoring the environmental and social impacts of the forest management.
Our wood and wood products with the PEFC logo are proven to derive from ecologically, economically and socially sustainable forestry management. PEFC is the largest institution for ensuring and marketing sustainable forest management through an independent certification system. We invite PEFC auditors to carry out annual audits according to a clear schedule. Auditors inspect our relevant documents, such as valid certificates from suppliers, invoices, and delivery bills to ensure that we and our suppliers meet the PEFC standards.
TÜV Rheinland tests the safety, usability, functionality and quality of products worldwide. It acts as a testing service provider from development to market approval, both nationally and internationally. With our ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications, we have met the highest standards for the development, production, packaging and distribution of virtually every product and its individual parts, components formulas and ingredients.
